The Irish boyband had planned to celebrate their Twenty Tour - Live from Croke Park DVD going to No1 in the charts but have called it off

Westlife have called off their plans to celebrate their new DVD hitting the No1 spot in the charts out of respect for those affected by coronavirus. The Irish boyband - Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan - have put all of their promotional activity on hold in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The lads were chuffed to see their The Twenty Tour - Live from Croke Park DVD hit No1 in the DVD charts. But now, they've halted their plans and returned to their families in Ireland as coronavirus continues to spread. A source exclusively told Mirror Online: "The DVD success has been another brilliant achievement for Westlife, but celebrations have been muted given the coronavirus crisis and out of respect for all of those affected.

"All promotional activity is on hold for the foreseeable future. "It is a worrying time for everybody, so the band naturally want to be at home with their families until it is safe to return to work. They are thrilled with the success of the DVD, especially coming after the number one album in November, but any big celebration would be insensitive. "Shane, Nicky, Kian and Mark are incredibly grateful to the fans.” Their manager Louis Walsh added: "Westlife’s Croke Park concert was the best show I’ve seen in Dublin. It was incredible. They played to 160,000 fans across two nights. The atmosphere was incredible. There is much more to come from the lads." Posting on Instagram, Nicky, 41, said: "These are strange times in the world. It is getting more scary by the day. But better times are around the corner.

"We need a big parade for everybody involved on the frontline during the crisis. We need to have a big St Patrick’s Day for them." It comes after Mark said he was excited to share his baby announcement with fans. He was live on stage at Croke Park when he revealed the gender of his first child to a screaming crowd. Mark, 39, welcomed little Layla with his fiancé Cailean O'Neill, on October 1, last year. And the moment he shared the huge news with his fans was captured on film for the band's The Twenty Tour - Live from Croke Park DVD.
